Literally.
It’s International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO). In a hat tip to this, above is the rather excellent music video for ‘Gay Pirates’ by Cosmo Jarvis (who is straight, but clearly not homophobic). It’s a story of love against the odds on the high sea. The clip is really well staged. The song title is… ridiculous. I give it points for the heart-wrenching line: “I hope they didn’t tie up / your hands as tight as mine / I’ll see you on the bed of this blue ocean, babe, sometime.” Awwwwwww.
Anyway, I’m off in Barcelona for a few days. No doubt there will be pictures upon my return. They won’t look like this:

This is kind of neat, I think.
If you’re wondering what on Earth that is, it’s IOgraphica, of course. It’s a simple bit of software that tracks your mouse movements, creating slowly-growing dots where you park your cursor. The image above is an output from a 2-hour morning browsing session; the ‘back’ button top left, a line of tabs top right, and my mouse parked in the body of web pages while I scroll through long-read articles creating big dots. I threw on a filter or two in Photoshop to enhance the basic output, because blue is a fun colour. Try it. It’s free and sort of fun.
