Eugene Levy, a professor at Rice University, wants his introductory science class to know that “…the world is in fact understandable, that rational inquiry can lead to understanding, and that there’s rarely an excuse to say understanding is beyond them.”
I agree wholeheartedly. We all have limits on our time and what we can learn. However, to suggest that this or that facet of the world cannot be understood is a cop out. Human curiosity, creativity and ingenuity flourish at the boundaries of what we do and do not know!
