Today we put on a BBQ for the students in Pollution Chemistry, which is essentially the capstone environmental ‘Chem’ course in Griffith’s Bachelor of Science. It’s the graduating cohort which I first taught 3 years ago – the first classes I took were first year Chemistry, and now I’ve got the again at the other end of the program! It’s a little odd, especially because I’m a similar age to most of them, but it’s cool to think I’ve helped them to learn and develop their skills through the degree in some small way. It was a good fun day and hopefully gave everyone a few hours to de-stress before the big run to the finish with exams and major assignments (and then jobs!). I’m confident they’ll all do really well! because then their reports will be easy to mark
Oh, and my tip for the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medal in beach volleyball goes to Team Science… watch out world! That’s if we can avoid injuring each other.
