Beyond Peak Oil: the funny side

It took me a minute to get it, but gee, Moth’s hit the nail on the head with this one:

It’s easy to forget that plastics are made from oil. They’re undoubtedly amazingly useful materials (maybe not so much when we use them as pointless disposable wrapping…) but we’re burning what is used to make them at a staggering rate.

For a bit of a lighter look at the world of the future, or for some great articles and commentary on science and sustainability, click through to the link in the image and check out Moth’s site. In the meantime, I’m off to grab some plastic flowers. It always pays to plan ahead.
